Kusumagiri Training Institute for Special Education (KTISE) was started in 2013 to provide D.Ed in Special Education (Autism Spectrum Disorder) for students who wish to build a career in the field of special education. The Diploma course is recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi affiliated to National Institute of Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disability (NIEPMD). It prepares teachers to provide specially designed instruction for students with disabilities and to work across a variety of educational settings, including: special schools, resource rooms, pre-schools, early intervention programs, supported classrooms in regular schools, clinics and health agencies. We deliver excellent teaching by recognized faculty, individual attention and collegiality, leadership opportunities, and high standards of learning and performance. The course provides graduates with the knowledge and supervised practice of specific skills in their application to children and youth with disabilities. Includes visits to 20 organizations within the state and also to organizations outside the state to broaden their experience.
The minimum qualification for admission is successful completion of 10+2 or higher Secondary examination or equivalent with 50% marks

This is an extension unit of Kusumagiri mental health centre, an exclusive set up for children and adolescents started its functioning in 1986. Children are usually brought for problems related to conduct, emotional or scholastic performance.
